NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Trinity College Women's Basketball team fell to top-ranked New York University, 83-45, in the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship at the John A. Paulsen Center Saturday evening. The Bantams wrap their season with a 19-9 record, while the Violets remain undefeated at 27-0.

Melissa Whitmore grabbed a game-high seven rebounds with six points. Junior

The Violets had four scorers in double figures, led by Natalie Bruns with game-highs in points (23), assists (9), blocks (5) with a team-high six rebounds. Belle Pellecchia tallied 19 points with a game-high eight steals, two rebounds and two assists. Brooke Batchelor chipped in 12 points with five steals, four rebounds and three assists, while Caroline Peper notched 11 points and three assists.

The Bantams won the rebounding battle, 43-26, while the Violets dominated the paint, 66-22. Trinity shot 17-of-52 (32.7%) from the field, 3-of-9 (33.3%) from three-point and 8-of-14 (57.1%) from the foul line. New York University connected on 35-of-64 (54.7%) from the floor, 1-of-17 (5.9%) from three-point, and 12-of-18 (66.7%) from the charity stripe.
