Trinity Women’s Tennis Drops 5–2 Decision to Bates in NESCAC Action

LEWISTON, Maine – The Trinity College women's tennis team fell to Bates College, 5–2, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) matchup on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Bantams drop to 5–8 overall and 0–7 in conference play, while the Bobcats improve to 5–11 and notch their first NESCAC win of the season (1–6).

Trinity's two points came from hard-fought singles victories by Ella Baker at the No. 1 spot and Allie Francis at No. 2. Both players rallied after dropping their opening sets, forcing super tiebreakers to secure the wins. Baker prevailed 4–6, 6–4, 1(10)–0(7), while Francis claimed a dramatic 3–6, 7–6(9), 1(10)–1(8) victory.

In doubles play, Baker and Francis cruised to a dominant 6–0 win at the top spot. However, Bates took the overall doubles point after wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions.
