BLOOMFIELD, Conn. – The Trinity Men's Golf 'A' team placed second, while the 'B' team took fifth in a 16-team field at the Bantams/Hawks Spring Invitational over the weekend at Tumble Brook Country Club.
The Bantams 'A' team posted a team score on 600 (299-301), led by
Thomas Chalfant with a 147 (74-73) for sixth overall.
Benjamin Boyd was one stroke back in a tie at seventh with a 148 (72-76), while
Henry Reilly was knotted at 19
th with a 153 (77-76).
Carson Muse posted a 154 (78-76) to take a share of 27
th, and
Joey Hoffman sat one shot back in 31
st with a 155 (76-79).
The Trinity 'B' team carded a team score of 609 (310-299), with the team's 299 score in the second round tying for third-lowest round score during the tournament. Â
Aidan Monahan led all Bantams with a squad-low 145, including a 67 in the final round, the lowest individual round score during the invitational.
Charlie Mullin finished in a tie at seventh with a 148 (73-75), while
Spencer Korona grabbed a piece of 32
nd with a 156 (78-78).
Bennett Ostern placed 51
st with a 160 (81-79), and Marc Degaetano was 69
th with a 164 (84-80).
Joseph DeStefano (158, 82-76) and
Peter Sanger (164, 85-79) competed as individuals, placing 43
rd and 69
th, respectively.
Amherst College won the event with a team score of 592 (296-296), followed by Trinity 'A', Hamilton (304-300) and RPI (311-293) tied at third and the Trinity 'B' team.
The Bantams will return to the link when they travel to Skidmore College for the Tim Brown Invitational at Ballston Spa Country Club from April 12-13.
