Bantams Blank Warriors in Non-Conference Victory

MANSFIELD, Conn. – The Trinity College men's soccer team secured a 3-0 victory over host Eastern Connecticut State University in non-conference action at the Mansfield Outdoor Complex on Saturday evening. With the win, the Bantams improve to 3-2-1 on the year, while the Warriors drop to 5-3-0 overall.

What Happened

  • Trinity struck early as first-year Trevor Saruwaka netted his first collegiate goal in the 14th minute, finishing a feed from Silas Lawrence and Kieran McCabe to give the Bantams a 1-0 lead.
  • The advantage doubled midway through the opening half when senior Michael Desmond tallied his first goal of the season off an assist from Ian Spiro, sending Trinity into the break ahead 2-0.
  • In the 60th minute, junior Shane Ivey added an insurance marker, his second of the season off a setup from McCabe and Spiro, sealing the 3-0 win.
