HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College swimming and diving teams split the afternoon against the visiting United States Coast Guard Academy. The Bantam women clinched a thrilling 147.50–142 victory, while the men's squad fell, 201–89.50.
From the Desk of Coach Hagy
"We had another fantastic showing today at our meet against Coast Guard! There is always a little bit of magic in the air for senior meet, and wow did our team really show up. We had five broken records (all by senior Niamh Kastner), one NCAA B-cut (by Charlotte Murphree in the 200 breast), 32 personal bests, and 13 new top-10 performances.
We are at a point in the season where everyone should be broken down and tired, so to perform at the best they ever have in their life is really impressive and promising for our end-of-season performances.
The meet on the women's side came down to the last relay, and we ended up winning by 5.5 points! Every person mattered and the energy on deck was contagious.
Due to the winter storm, this will be our last dual meet of the season, but we are looking forward to the NESCAC Championships in a few weeks and seeing how much more we can improve!"
