HARTFORD, Conn. – In one of the oldest rivalries in college football, the Trinity College Football team rolled past visiting Williams College, 45-0, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) clash at Jessee/Miller Field at Tansil-Muldoon Stadium Saturday afternoon. The Bantams improve to 3-0, while the Ephs drop to 2-1 on the season.
What Happened:
- In their second drive of the game, the Bantams ripped off an eight-play, 68-yard drive, capped by a 14-yard touchdown run from Tate Hoffmeister, to grab a 7-0 lead midway through the first quarter.
- Trinity opened the second quarter with an interception from Marshall Rice that handed the Bantams the ball at the Trinity 33-yard line. With 10:31 on the clock, Jaxon Carroll connected with Patrick McCaffrey on a 19-yard post, extending the lead to 14-0 with another extra point from Max Wallace.
- Wallace added to the Bantams lead, blasting a career-long 47-yard field goal with 4:56 remaining in the first half to give Trinity the 17-0 lead. On the Ephs opening play on the subsequent drive, Bryce Ferrell snatched a tipped ball and returned the ball 54 yards to paydirt, extending the advantage to 24-0.
- Trinity closed the first half with a two-minute drive, ripping off 65 yards on five plays, including a two-yard touchdown run from Nolan O'Brien, giving the Bantams a 31-0 lead at the break.
- On their opening drive of the second half, the Bantams added to their advantage as Hoffmeister took a rush to the left, hit a defensive wall, but reversed course into a 42-yard touchdown run down the right sideline, make it a 38-0 score.
- With just over eight minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Bantams defense logged their second pick-six of the game as Joshua Stahl picked off a pass from Drew Renzella and brought it to the house from 37 yards out, sending Trinity to the 45-0 victory.

- The Bantams offense amassed 361 yards on 61 plays, featuring 219 yards passing and 142 yards on the ground.
- The Ephs totaled 110 yards on 52 plays with only 62 yards rushing and 48 yards in the air.

- McCaffrey registered a career-high 121 yards on a career-high six receptions with a score, while Darison Hooper and Jack Tosone posted 30-plus receiving yards apiece.
- Hoffmeister notched a career-high 79 yards on a career-high 12 carries for a career-high two touchdowns, while Josh Woodford recorded a career-high 17 carries for 70 yards.
- Wallace went six-for-six on extra points, and his 47-yard field goal was the longest since Eric Sachse connected on a 50-yarder in 2018.
- The Trinity defense posted their second straight shutout, limiting the Williams offense to five first downs, the second-fewest total this season. Lincoln Moore tallied seven tackles, Ethan Krauss had six stops, and Luke Pickard notched 1.5 sacks with three tackles.
