Johnson, Vaghasia Grab Wins at ITA New England Regionals

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Trinity College Women's Tennis first-year Katherine Johnson advanced to the Round of 16, while Jahnavi Vaghasia reached the Round of 32 at the 2026 ITA New England Regionals, hosted by Bowdoin College, over the weekend.
 
What Happened:
  • In the Singles B Draw, Johnson opened with an 8-6 victory over Anastasia Samets, and then cruised by Lauren Oliver of Middlebury, 8-1, before falling to Sam Talwar of Amherst, 8-1, in the Round of 16.
  • Vaghasia began with an 8-5 win over Sabrina Wang of Smith, but fell to Gaby Shiao of Amherst, 8-1, in the Round of 32.
  • In the Round of 64, Naisha Rathi took an 8-0 defeat to Manuela Moscoso of Babson, and Avery Morris lost 8-3 to Lila Moldenhauer.
  • In the Singles A Draw, Hellena Trojer advanced to the Round of 32 after capturing a victory over Zainab Patel of UMass-Boston before suffering a 6-2, 6-0 defeat to championship runner-up Mariia Kornilova of Wesleyan.
  • The doubles team of Rathi and Emilia Romano fell to the duo of Zoe Yao and Katelyn Wu of Williams, 8-4.
