MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – With an 80-55 victory over top-seeded Wesleyan University in the 2026 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Men's Basketball Championship Game at Silloway Gymnasium Sunday afternoon, the second-seeded Trinity College Men's Basketball team became the second program in conference history to capture three straight NESCAC crowns. The Bantams rise to 25-2 on the season, while the Cardinals slide to 21-6 overall.
What Happened:
- The Cardinals controlled the pace out of the gates, racing to a 17-6 lead behind seven points from Ben Lyttle, but the Bantams settled in and used a 10-2 run, powered by six points from Drew Lazarre to set the score at 19-16.
- After a six-point spurt from Zach Wolinski helped Wesleyan rebuild a 25-18 advantage at 6:08 mark, Trinity ripped off a 12-6 run to close the half behind six points from Tristan Davis and five from Jared Berry to close the gap to 31-30 at the break.
- The Bantams carried their momentum into the second half as Jarrel Okorougo poured in 11 straight points in the opening four minutes to hand Trinity a 41-35 lead.
- Leading 47-41 with 12:26 on the clock, the Bantams defense ratcheted up allowing eight points over the next nine minutes of action. Trinity caught fire from beyond the arc, burying six three-pointers during the span, including a trio from Henry Vetter, as the Bantams advantage expanded to 74-51 with 2:16 to play.
- Trinity added free throws from Lazarre and Vetter, along with a bucket from Berry to seal the 80-55 victory.

- The Bantams connected on 47.5% (28-of-59) from the floor, including 38.1% (8-of-21) from three-point range, and 80% (16-of-20) from the foul line.
- The Cardinals shot 40.4% (21-of-52) from the field, 20% (3-of-15) from long range, and 90.9% (10-of-11) from the free throw stripe.

- Okorougo led the Bantams with a team-high 20 points, five rebounds and two steals, while Berry netted 19 points, four rebounds and three assists off the bench.
- Vetter tallied 11 points with six rebounds and three assists, Lazarre added 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals, and Davis grabbed a team-high nine rebounds with seven points, two assists and two steals.
- Wolinski paced the Cardinals with a game-high 22 points, shooting 9-of-15 from the floor. Fritz Hauser and Lyttle chipped in 10 points apiece.
