Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse | | Henry Vetter

Four Bantam Hat Tricks led to 19-1 Win over Camels

HARTFORD, Conn.–– The Trinity College Women's Lacrosse Team dominated in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) home win Wednesday night against Connecticut College. The offensive firepower alongside the lockdown defense held Connecticut to just four total shots in the contest.The Bantams rise to 7-3 (3-2 NESCAC) while the Camels fall to 2-6 (0-5 NESCAC).  

1st Quarter 

  • The Bantams wasted no time in the meeting, Restivo scored off a feed from Grace Denious followed by a pair of free position goals by Alex Lesko and Caroline Lally for an early 3-0 lead.  

  • Another Denious setup led to a goal for Sarah Marvin before a trio of free position goals by Kaeley Zito, Lally, and Restivo really opened the game up.  

  • Restivo hit Marvin on the crease for a turnaround goal to put the Bants up 8-0. 

2nd Quarter 

  • Restivo kept it on scoring off the dish by Zito before Marvin and Ivy Armentrout connected for the same result. 

  • Conn finally got on the board with 3:47 remaining in the half on a goal by Kate Coughlin 

  • Trinity responded with a pretty goal that was setup by Sarah Marvin and Maggie Slimbaugh and put home by Denious for an 11-1 halftime lead. 

3rd Quarter  

  • More of the same in the second half––Restivo dodged to another goal followed by another Denious free position goal. 

  • Ivy Armentrout drove and dished it down to a cutting Lally for her second then Lily Eiler skipped it to the hot hand Restivo to make it 16-1 heading into the fourth.  

4th Quarter 

  • Denious and Lally tacked on two more free position goals before MJ McManus scored her first goal of the year thanks to the scoop and feed by fellow first-year Izzy Cummings 

  • Cummings would go on to set up another first-year Zoe Conroy for her first goal of the year as running timed expired with a final score of 19-1.

Next up 

The Bantams return to the field for Senior Day on Saturday where they will face the visiting Bowdoin College. Trinity is 17-2 all-time vs the Polar Bears who enter the matchup at 3-5 (0-5 NESCAC).
