HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College softball team had three Bantams earn New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) All-Conference honors. Senior center fielder Abby Alper earned First Team honors, while junior third baseman Emily Goddard and catcher/first baseman Makenna True were named to the Second Team.
Alper became the 22nd player in program history to earn First Team All-Conference honors, while Goddard became the 33rd and True the 34th player in program history to receive Second Team All-Conference recognition.
Alper finishes her career having left a lasting mark on the Trinity softball program. She ranks 21st all-time in slugging percentage (.445) and is tied for third in both games played and games started with Abigail Ostrom '14 (134-134), just behind alumna Taylor Mikolajczak, who recorded 135 games played and started. Alper also ranks sixth in at-bats (429), ninth in runs scored (89), 11th in hits (133), 15th in doubles (22), third in triples (9), tied for 15th in home runs with Mikolajczak (6), 10th in RBIs (73), ninth in total bases (191), and sixth in walks (44). She also ranks second in program history in stolen bases and stolen base attempts, going 53-for-55, trailing only Mikolajczak's program-record 81-for-87 mark.
This season alone, Alper etched her name into the Trinity record book with 116 at-bats, tied for fourth all-time with alumna Kennedy Rogers '25. She also ranked fifth in single-season runs scored with 34, which placed seventh in the NESCAC. Alper tied Robin Silver '87 for fifth all-time with 19 stolen bases in a season and tied Maureen Heneghan '02 for fifth with 21 stolen base attempts, both marks also ranking fifth in the conference this season.
Goddard closed out her junior season tied for eighth in program history with 35 games played and tied for sixth with 35 games started. Teammates True and Katie Ruffer joined Goddard in those season marks alongside Amelia Mostovoy '11, Elizabeth Bontempo '99, and Christina Galese '11 for most games played in a season, while also matching Galese '11 and Bontempo '99 for most games started in a season. Goddard is now tied in a four-way tie for runs scored in a season with 31, matching Mikolajczak's 2025 total. The third baseman also recorded 10 doubles, placing her in a nine-way tie for 14th all-time and 10th in the NESCAC this season. In addition, she ranks second in program history with 12 hit-by-pitches in a season.
In her career, Goddard has already etched her name into the program's history books. She is tied for 19th all-time with 61 career runs scored, matching Kennedy Rogers '25 and Karen Leonard '91. She also became the 28th player in program history to record 18 career doubles, tying Brianna Stanton '01, Amelia Mostovoy '13, and Erica Correa '16. The junior is now the 20th player in program history to record 50 career RBIs and ranks second all-time after being hit by 28 pitches in her career.
True closed out her junior season splitting time behind the plate and at first base for the Bantams. Alongside teammates Goddard and Ruffer, True now shares the program's single-season records for games played (35) and games started (35). She also tied for 10th all-time with 116 at-bats, matching Alper, Jessica Tait '07, Ostrom '11, and Galese '12. True now ranks tied for third in single-season hits with 45, matching Samantha Witmer '19 and Tait '10. She also owns a career batting average of .326, tied with Stacy Hills '07 for the 23rd-highest mark in program history, while her .388 batting average this season ranks 11th all-time for a single season.
The Bantams finished the season with a 20-15 overall record and a 9-9 mark in conference play before falling to the Colby College Mules, 4-1, in the NESCAC Quarterfinals.
