Men's Soccer Dominates Framingham State, 8-0

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Men's Soccer team posted their decisive win since the 1999 season, defeating visiting Framingham State University, 8-0, in a non-conference tilt at the Trinity Soccer Field. Eight goals is the Bantams' highest margin of victory since a 9-0 win over Stevens Tech during the 1999 season.

What Happened:
  • First-year Charles Desautels became the first Trinity player since Cody Savonen (2017) to record three goals in a game, opening with a tally off a pass from Shane Ivey in the 15th minute.
  • Eight minutes later, Sebastian Martinez-Moule headed a volley to the front of the net for a finish from Desautels. The first-year struck again just over two minutes later with Jake Davis playing a free kick to the box, where Jack Murphy knocked a header to the far post and Desautels tucked the loose ball past Rams keeper Colin Holt to set the score at 3-0.
  • With five minutes remaining in the first half, Alexander Crawford crossed the ball to back post, where Owen Meyers headed it back to the front of the net, and Sam Singer delivered the finish to make it 4-0 heading into the break.
  • The Bantams continued to pour it on in the second half, beginning with a penalty kick strike from Trevor Saruwaka less than seven minutes into the frame, followed by Sam Duncanson heading in a corner from Martinez-Moule to extend the lead to 6-0.
  • Shane Ivey added a tally, firing home a free ball following a corner in the 67th minute, and then blasted home an unassisted goal with 19:23 to play, en route to the 8-0 victory.
