Trinity College

Jacob Filby was hired as a Trinity rowing assistant coach in the winter of 2020 and will begin his fourth year with the team in 2022-23.  Prior to arriving in Hartford, Filby taught Earth Science and coached the freshmen/novice program at Canisius High School. He was also previously the novice coach and the head boys' coach for Unionville High School. Filby has coached for the 2018 USRowing High Performance Camp, the 2019 Olympic Development Program, and the 2021 ARION Junior Sculling team.

Filby coxed collegiately for the University of Delaware, helping the program win the 2017 and 2018 Men’s Points Trophies at the Dad Vail Regatta. He has also trained with Vesper Boat Club, holds a Level II Coaching Certification from USRowing, and won the 2018 University of Delaware Men’s Crew “Good Humor” award, given to the funniest athlete on the team.
