Julie Warren

Julie Warren joined the Trinity College women's rowing coaching staff for the 2019-20 season.  A 2011 graduate of Smith College, Warren brought eight years of coaching experience to Trinity. Prior to Trinity, Warren was the head coach of Westford Academy Crew. She brings experience in student-athlete leadership development, novice coaching and recruiting, as well as an administrative background.

Prior to Westford Academy, Warren spent two years working for Community Rowing, Inc. as an assistant coach with the high school varsity girls program. There, she worked with developmental athletes in both sweep and sculling, coaching the team’s fifth and sixth boats to respective first and third place finishes in the 3V8+ event at the 2017 NE Youth Regional Championships and contributing to the club’s first ever Team Points Trophy.

Warren also spent two years at Simmons College, working as a varsity assistant and novice head coach. Between 2012 and 2013, she worked as a coach and coordinator of the middle and high school programs at Pioneer Valley Riverfront Club. Warren also has several years of experience coaching adaptive rowing, as well as working with outreach programs in Western Massachusetts and the Boston area. She has coached athletes ranging in ages from 12 to 74.

In 2014, Warren attended the Institute for Rowing Leadership, an intensive, nationally recognized one-year coaching education program in Boston. There she focused her student research on developing self-efficacy in junior female rowers. Warren earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics in 2011 from Smith, where she first began rowing as a walk-on. Off the water, you can find her swing dancing, playing rugby, or traveling via a self-supported bicycle tour.
