Trinity College

Brendan Weir enters his third season as a full-time assistant wrestling coach on Head Coach Sebastian Amato's staff for the 2023-24 season.  Weir arrived at Trinity from Western New England University, where he was a graduate assistant with the wrestling program for two seasons.  Weir graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a degree in athletic training in 2019 and added a master's degree in sport leadership and coaching from WNE.  He coached three All-Americans and seven Scholar All-Americans while with the Golden Bears.  

Weir was a team captain, a two-time Northeast Region Placewinner, at Southern Maine, where he also earned New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) All-Conference and All-Academic recognition three times apiece.  Weir received a National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-American award in 2016 and the Albert D. Bean Jr. Leadership Award while competing for the Huskies.  He also has coaching experience with the Baystate Wrestling Club.
