Jen Bowman

Jen Bowman enters her 22nd season as head coach of the Trinity College Volleyball team for the 2025 season. Bowman is Trinity’s all-time winningest volleyball coach with a 265-220 record and a .546 winning percentage over 21 seasons, including 13 appearances in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship Tournament.

The Bantams saw a four-win improvement during the 2024 season where Trinity posted a 19-6 record with a 5-5 mark in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) play.
Offensively, the Bantams ranked third in the NESCAC in kills (12.53) and assists (11.78), while ranking fourth in points (16.28) and digs (17.18).
 
Bowman has logged 16 seasons with double-digit win totals, including a 19-9 record in 2011, the mark second-most wins in a season, one victory behind the 20-7 mark set in 1987.
 
During her 20-plus years at the helm, Bowman has produced two American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Americans (Hannah Brickley, 2011; Bella Caffuzzi, 2024), seven AVCA All-New England selections, and 13 All-Conference selections.
 
Prior to joining Trinity, Bowman won over 71 percent of her matches in four years at NESCAC rival Bates, including a 31-9 mark and an appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship Regional Finals in 2000. In four years, Bowman guided Bates to four NESCAC Championship Semifinals and two NESCAC Finals. compiled a 177-50 record in six years as the head volleyball coach at Frostburg State University and Bates College. Bowman owns a career record of 423-264 (.616.) over her 27 seasons as a head coach. As a widely-respected coach, Bowman has served on a number of AVCA committees and has been the NCAA representative for NESCAC.
 
A graduate of the NCAA Women’s Coaches Academy, Bowman received a bachelor’s degree in geography in 1997, and her master’s degree in post-secondary education from Salisbury in 2004. As a student-athlete at Salisbury, serving a team captain for both the Volleyball and Softball teams. On the volleyball court, Bowman ranks second all-time in career service aces (255) and fifth in career assists (2,121). Bowman owns the single-season record for service aces (100) and second-most aces in a match with 12. Bowman was a four-time ESAC All-Conference selection, including Player of the Year honors in 1992, and a two-time All-Region choice. On the softball diamond, Bowman was a two-time Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) First Team All-Conference selection (1995,1997) and was selected as the 1995 Player of the Year. Bowman was inducted into the Salisbury Athletics Hall of Fame in 2007.
