Oscar Lopez-Hidalgo enters his second season as an assistant coach for the Trinity College women's squash program in the upcoming 2023-24 seasons. Lopez-Hidalgo was the volunteer assistant coach for the past four seasons at his alma mater, the University of Rochester. As a member of the Yellowjacket staff, he and his fellow coaches were awarded Coaching Staff of the Year by the Liberty League in 2016-17 and 2019-20. His passion for the squash led him to the prestigious Genesee Valley Club in Rochester, N.Y., where he coached top juniors and developed a successful squash program.
Before his coaching career kicked off, Lopez-Hidalgo had a successful four-year career for the Yellowjackets. As a senior co-captain in 2012-13, he posted a 12-7 record and ended the season ranked #38 by the College Squash Association. Lopez-Hidalgo was a four-time Liberty League Champion with a perfect 13-0 record across the 2009-13 seasons. In 2008, before entering his first year of college at Rochester, Lopez-Hidalgo was ranked a top 10 player in Mexico and is currently ranked #42 in the world as a Squash Doubles Association Pro Tour player.
