Rachael Schroeder

Rachael Schroeder enters her seventh season as Trinity College Head Women’s Soccer Coach for the 2025 season. Schroeder owns a 30-34-17 record with a career .475 win percentage at Trinity, the fourth-highest mark in program history. During her tenure, eight players have earned All-Conference status, including the 2022 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Rookie of the Year (Elena Lindonen). Schroeder has coached over 60 NESCAC All-Academic honorees in six seasons, including eight selections in 2024. Schroeder guided the Bantams to a 3-9-3 record with a 1-6-2 mark in the NESCAC during the 2024 campaign.

In 2022, the Bantams finished the year with a 7-5-7 record, including an 11-match unbeaten streak.  Schroeder led the Bantams to the NESCAC Semifinals and to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament, their first appearance since 2016.  Trinity downed Middlebury on the road in the Quarterfinals, 2-1, for its first-post-season victory since the 2016 season, before falling to Wesleyan (3-0) in the Semifinals. The Bantams earned an at-large berth to the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer National Championship Tournament and played their first-ever NCAA Tournament game on Trinity Soccer Field.  The Bantams closed the year with a 4-0 setback against eventual NCAA Champion, Johns Hopkins in Trinity's third-ever NCAA Second Round appearance. The Bantams finished 2022 as the No. 22-ranked team in the nation.

Prior to Trinity, Schroeder served as the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at St. Olaf, where she compiled a 27-21-4 (.558) record in three seasons at the helm. In her first season, Schroeder doubled the Oles win total from the prior season, posting an 8-7 mark. Schroeder guided the Oles to back-to-back Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Tournament appearances in 2017 and 2018. In her three seasons, Schroeder coached seven All-MIAC selections and three United Soccer Coaches All-North Region honorees. Her teams also collected the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award twice, and three Oles were named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-North/Central Region Teams. She was also St. Olaf's senior woman administrator, and created the Ole Leadership Academy for student-athletes in that role.

Schroeder served as an assistant coach at Washington and Lee University for three seasons and Clarkson University for two years, after starting her coaching career as an assistant at Wellesley College.  She helped Washington and Lee post a 45-8-3 record from 2013 to 2015, and was a member of the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year at Clarkson in 2011.  Schroeder coached the Team USA Open women's team, which won a gold medal in 2020 at the Pan American Maccabi Games in Mexico City.

Schroeder is a graduate of Skidmore College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in business and sociology. On the field, Schroeder was a captain and highly-decorated player for the nationally-ranked Thoroughbreds. Schroeder was the 2005 Liberty League Rookie of the Year and a three-time Liberty League All-Conference selection. As a senior, Schroeder claimed NSCAA All-New York Region First Team status and earned a spot on the Liberty League Championship All-Tournament Team after helping guide the Thoroughbreds to the Liberty League Title game. Schroeder went on to play professionally with the Adirondack Lynx and the Boston Breakers of the Women's Professional Soccer League (WPSL) and in Canada for the London Gryphons.  Schroeder earned a master's degree from Clarkson in business administration and is a member of the Trinity Athletics Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Committee. Schroeder resides in West Hartford witth her wife Kingsley, son Dewey, and daughter Wylie.
