Williamstown, Mass. - Junior forward Sam Wisner
(Wayland, Mass.) scored the game's only goal in the
69th minute and senior goalkeeper Zac Trudeau
(Norwell, Mass.) made 11 saves to earn the shutout win, as
the visiting Trinity College Bantams prevailed over the Williams
College Ephs, 1-0, in New England Small College Athletic Conference
(NESCAC) men's soccer action this afternoon. Trinity, ranked
No. 8 in New England, improves to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the NESCAC
with its fourth straight triumph and its first win at Williams in
its last 21 games there. The Ephs, ranked No. 3 in New
England and No. 21 in the nation, drops to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in
the league.
The Bantams broke open the stalemate when senior forward
Nick Cantone (New York, N.Y.) beat the Williams
defense to the corner and got off a cross that found the waiting
foot of Wisner who calmly redirected it past Eph keeper
Andrew Graham (Northbrook, Ill.). Several
Ephs were stymied by Trudeau on late scoring chances. Graham
totaled three saves for Williams.
