Hartford, Conn. - Trinity junior forward Sam
Wisner (Wayland, Mass.) had a hand in every goal, with two
goals and two assist in the decisive 4-1 victory over the Western
Connecticut Colonials on Campus Field this evening. Trinity
improves to a 5-1 record, while Western Connecticut drops to
4-5.
Scoring was opened early when Western Connecticut freshmen
Bruno Mendonca (New Milford, Conn.) scored a goal
assisted by Eren Ceylan (Danbury, Conn.) only 2:45
into the game. The 1-0 Colonial lead was short lived as
Nick Cantone (New York, N.Y.) answered with a
Trinity goal less than a minute later, with the assist going to
Wisner for his first point of the evening. Wisner assisted on
Peter Marlette (Buffalo, N.Y.) goal and scored one
as well, in the remaining half, giving Trinity a 3-1 lead to start
the second half of the game.
Wisner scored his second goal of the game and the only goal in the
second half at 29:57, which placed his game tally total at six
points. Bantam senior goalkeeper Zac Trudeau
(Norwell, Mass.) made five saves, including one against a
penalty shot, while junior goalkeeper Nathan Maggiotto
(Concord, N.H.) made one save, coming in with 10 minutes
left in the game. Western Connecticut goalkeeper Dan
Michalowski (Bethel, Conn.) recorded eight saves.
