Kelly Goal Gives Williams Men's Soccer Overtime Win At Trinity

Hartford, Conn. – Senior co-captain forward Gaston Kelly (Hingham, Mass.) scored the game's only goal 3:55 into overtime to lead the visiting Williams College Ephs to a 1-0 win over the Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's soccer action this afternoon.  Trinity falls to 5-5 overall and 2-4 in the NESCAC with the loss in its third consecutive overtime game, while the Ephs, ranked No. 1 in New England and No. 3 in the nation, improve to 7-0-2 overall and 4-0-2 in the league with their second victory in a row.  Trinity had not lost a regular-season game against Williams since 2006.

Kelly netted the clincher from sophomore midfielder Patrick Ebobisse (Bethesda, Md.) and freshman forward Dan Lima (Naugatuck, Conn.).  Trinity junior goalie Grant Schonberg (Mendham, N.J.) took 16 shots and made six saves, while senior Andrew Lyons-Berg (Silver Spring, Md.) had a pair of stops to earn the shutout in the Eph goal.  Junior forward Dan Mayernick (Gladwyne, Pa.) managed a team-high three shots for the Bantams.
