Claremont, Calif. - The Bowdoin College men's tennis team earned
a 5-4 win over the Trinity College Bantams in a New
England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) match this
afternoon. Trinity falls to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the NESCAC.
Bowdoin took two of three doubles matches and two early
decisions in singles play to take a 4-1 lead, before Bantam
sophomore Anson McCook (Miami, Fla.) won in
straight sets at second singles. Stephen Sullivan closed out
the match with a straight-set win over Bantam senior
tri-captain Spencer Feldman (Uppr Brookville,
N.Y.) to clinch the win. Trinity junior
Richard Bonfiglio (Bronxville, N.Y.) and
freshman Dan Couzens (West Hartford, Conn.) each
won singles matches in super tiebreakers, after teaming up for the
lone Bantam doubles triumph, 9-7, at the No. 2 spot.
