Hartford, Conn. – First-year Catalina Pelaez (Bogota, Colombia), ranked No. 8 in the nation among individuals, posted a 3-0 victory over sophomore Julie Cerullo (Brooklyn, N.Y.), the nation's No. 6-ranked player, in the No. 1 match to lead the Trinity College Bantams to an 8-1 win over the visiting Princeton University Tigers in women's squash action this afternoon. Trinity, ranked No. 3 in the nation, closes the dual-match season with a 13-2 record, while the Tigers drop to 9-4.
Trinity led, 2-1, after the first wave of matches thanks to 3-0 shutouts by sophomore Alicia Rodriguez (San Luis Potosi, Mexico) and senior tri-captain Robyn Williams (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) in the No. 6 and No. 9 matches, respectively, and swept the final five matches. Freshman Libby Eyre (Gladwyne, Pa.), ranked No. 21 nationally, posted the lone Tiger victory, 3-2, in the No. 3 match in a mild upset of Bantam rookie and No. 14-ranked Jennifer Pelletier (Richmond Hill, Ontario).
