Princeton, N. J. - The No. 2 Harvard University women's squash team defeated No. 3 Trinity College in the semifinals of the College Squash Association (CSA) National Team Championship, 6-3.  The Bantams had earned a spot in the semifinal game after topping Stanford, 7-2, in the quarterfinal match yesterday.  The Crimson advance to the finals on Sunday, when it will face the winner of the No. 1 Yale-No. 5 Princeton match.  Trinity will face Princeton in the Third Place Match, tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.  Trinity has placed third in the Howe Cup tournament in back-to-back years. 

Using the three-court system, Harvard jumped out to an early 2-1 lead. Trinity lost two hard-fought battles, both scores of 3-2, in the No. 5 and No. 6 matches.  Cece Cortes took a five-set decision from sophomore Alicia Rodriguez-Acosta (San Luis Potosi, Mexico) in the No. 6 match, while Natasha Kingshott recovered from losing the first two sets of the No. 5 match, taking the final three sets against senior Emery Holten (Philadelphia, Pa.).

The Crimson improved its lead to 4-2 as the next trio of matches concluded, and sealed the victory in the third trio of matches with two more match wins.  The Bantams face Princeton in the Third Place Match, tomorrow, Sun., Feb. 20, at 1:30 p.m.
