Cambridge, Mass. - The Bowdoin College Polar Bears defeated the Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's tennis action this afternoon at Harvard University. Trinity, ranked No. 15 nationally, closes the regular season at 9-7 overall and 4-5 in the NESCAC with its third consecutive defeat, while the No. 14-ranked Polar Bears improve to 11-5 overall and 5-3 in the league.
Trinity senior tri-captains David Dessau (New York, N.Y.) and D.J. Patrick (Atlanta, Ga.) earned straight-set singles wins at No. 2 and No. 6, respectively, closing their dual-match careers on a positive note. Bowdoin took the doubles points, winning by close margins of 8-6 and 8-5 in the No. 1 and No. 3 matches, respectively, and two of the Polar Bear singles victories were three-setters.
