Hartford, Conn. - The Middlebury College Panthers defeated
the visiting Trinity College Bantams, 7-2, in New England
Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's tennis action this
afternoon. Trinity, ranked No. 4 in the Northeast and No. 13
in the nation, falls to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in the NESCAC with its
first loss in three matches, while the Panthers, ranked No. 1 in
the nation, jump to 12-1 overall and 3-0 in the
league with their fourth victory in a row. Trinity senior
tri-captains David Dessau (New York, N.Y.) and D.J. Patrick
(Atlanta, Ga.) won, 9-7, at No. 2 doubles, while Dessau also scored
a thrilling 3-6, 7-6, 10-7 triumph at No. 2 singles.
