Trinity Women's Squash Takes Third At Howe Cup, Sets Program Win Record

Cambridge, Mass. – Senior co-captain Alicia Rodriguez (San Luis Potosi, Mexico) breezed through the No. 2 match with an 11-5, 11-8, 11-8 victory to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 7-2 win over the Princeton University Tigers in the College Squash Association (CSA) National Championship (Howe Cup) Third Place Match this afternoon at Harvard University's Brady Courts.  Trinity, ranked No. 5 in the nation and seeded No. 5 in the tournament, closes the year with a College-record 17-4 record and avenges an 8-1 setback against Princeton in New Jersey 15 days ago.  The Tigers finish the year at 11-5.

Trinity won all three matches in the first wave, and had clinched the match by the end of the second wave.  Junior Robyn Hodgson (Aberdeen, Scotland) and sophomore Jennifer Pelletier (Richmond Hill, Ontario) also posted 3-0 wins for the Bantams.  Trinity Head Coach Wendy Bartlett (28th Season) increases her career record to 299-88 (.773).
