Hartford, Conn. – Eight of nine Trinity College Bantams won by scores of 3-0 en route to a 9-0 win over the Bates College Bobcats in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Women's Squash Championship Final today at Trinity's George Kellner Squash Center. Trinity, ranked No. 3 in the nation, improves to 14-2 with its fifth straight win, while Bates, ranked No. 9 in the nation, drops to 17-5 on the year.
Senior Pamela Larromana (Puerto Vallarta, Mexico) allowed just two points in the No. 9 position, while sophomore Jennifer Pellitier (Richmond Hill, Ontario) allowed just seven points in the No. 6 position for the Bantams.
Trinity blanked Wesleyan, 9-0, and downed Middlebury, 8-1, in the tournament quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively. Trinity won 22 of their 27 individual matches this weekend by scores of 3-0.
Bates was playing in its first NESCAC Championship Final in its six-year existence, following Saturday's 8-1 quarterfinal win over Bowdoin and 5-4 semifinal triumph over Williams.
