Lewiston, Maine - Junior Regan Cherna (Brinxville, N.Y.) did not
allow a single point at No. 5 singles and teamed with
classmate Elizabeth Gerber (Bethesda, Md.) for an 8-6 win at No. 3
doubles, leading the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 9-0
victory over the Bates College Bobcats in New England Small College
Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's tennis action this
afternoon. Trinity, ranked No. 7 in the Northeast and No. 21
in the nation, improves to 8-4 overall and 2-2 in the NESCAC, while
the Bobcats fall to 4-7 overall and 0-2 in the league.
Trinity outscored Bates, 24=9, in doubles and won all six singles
matches in straights sets.
