Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College men's tennis team won its regular season finale on Tuesday topping Babson, 5-1, in non-conference action at the Assaiante Center. The victory was the second straight for the Bantams as they improved to 9-7 on the year, while the Beavers lost their second match in row to end the year 10-10.

Trinity held a 2-1 advantage after doubles play thanks to victories from Musyoka Mbithi (Roxbury, N.J.)/Ford Traff (Wayzata, Minn.) at No. 2 and Rutendo Matingo (Weston, Mass.)/  Ilya Levin (Wellesley, Mass.) at No. 3. Mbithi and Traff cruised to an 8-0 triumph and Matingo and Levin outlasted their opponents, 9-8.

In singles action, Matingo won his match after Isaac Thylen had to retire the opening game. The Bantams clinched the victory as Mbithi and senior Kayong Lee (Villanova, Pa.) won their matches in straight sets at No. 4 and No. 6, respectively.

Trinity is the No. 6 seed in the upcoming New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Men's Tennis Championship and will take on third-seeded Williams Friday, May 2, at 1:00 p.m. at Bowdoin.
