Williamstown, Mass. – The Trinity College women's hockey team saw its five-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 loss to Williams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) action inside Lansing Chapman Rink. With the loss, the Bantams split the season series with the Ephs and move to 6-3-1 overall and 2-3-1 in league play, while Williams improves to 5-5-0 on the year and 2-2-0 in conference tilts.

Twelve minutes into the first period, sophomore forward Chelsea Stevenson gave the hosts a 1-0 lead with her second goal of the season. Stevenson's tally came in a strong period for Wiliams as the Ephs outshot Trinity 13-5 in the first. Junior forward Natalie Bernstein and linemate Sarah Lehman did a nice job setting the play up to register assists.

Throughout the remainder of the game, both teams had scoring changes, but neither was able to breakthrough. Trinity went scoreless on all five of its power-play opportunities, while Williams went 0-for-4 with the extra skater.

In net, Christina Cleroux recorded her first shutout of the season for the Ephs as she turned aside all 26 shots she faced. On the other end, first-year goaltender Sydney Belinskas (Port Orange, Fla.) was the tough-luck loser as she made 33 saves for the Bantams.

Offensively, junior forward Cheeky Herr (Princeton, N.J.) had six shots on goal for Trinity, while first-year forward Kelcie Finn (Weymouth, Mass.) fired five on target.

Trinity returns to action on Tuesday, Jan. 13, with a non-conference home contest versus Salve Regina with puckdrop scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
