Trinity Men's Tennis Knocks Off No. 24-Ranked California Lutheran

Thousand Oaks, Calif. - Junior Ford Traff (Wayzata, Minn.) won in straight sets at No. 4 singles and, 9-8, with senior captain Musyoka Mbithi (Roxbury, N.J.) at No. 1 doubles, leading the visiting Trinity College Bantams to an 8-1 victory over the California Lutheran University Kingsmen in men's tennis action this afternoon.  Trinity, ranked No. 23 in the nation, improves to 3-1, while the No. 24-ranked Kingsmen drop to 5-7.

Trinity took care of the Kingsmen early, winning all three doubles points and the first two completed singles matches.  Bantam senior captains Dan Carpenter (Wayzata, Minn.) and David Myers (Winnetka, Ill.) won at No. 2 doubles, 8-3, and Carpenter added a straight-sets singles triumph at the top of lineup.  Senior captain Ned Mandel (Chevy Chase, Md.) also won in singles and doubles for the Bantams.
