Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College men's tennis team remained undefeated at home this season with a 5-4 win against in-state rival Wesleyan in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) action on Wednesday afternoon at the Assaiante Tennis Center. With their fifth straight home victory, the Bantams improved to 8-3 overall and 3-2 in league play, while the Cardinals dropped their second straight to move to 3-7 on the year and 1-4 in conference tilts.
Trinity got off to a quick start, taking two of three doubles matches to take and early 2-1 lead. At No. 1 doubles, the duo of senior Musyoka Mbithi (Roxbury, N.J.) and junior Ford Traff (Wayzata, Minn.) scored an 8-6 triumph. The Bantams clinched the doubles points as senior captains Daniel Carpenter (Wayzata, Minn.) and David Myers (Winnetka, Ill.) netted an 8-5 victory.
