Box Score Hartford, Conn. – The visiting Williams College Ephs defeated the Trinity College Bantams, 2-0, in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's soccer opener for both sides this afternoon. Trinity drops to 2-1 and the Ephs improve to 2-0.
The teams took turns putting pressure on the defenses throughout the match, as Williams finished with a slight 15-to-14 shooting edge and 4-to-3 advantage on corner kicks. Eph sophomore forward Mark Sisco-Tolomeo (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) headed in the game-winner in the 20th minute after the initial shot by junior J.C. Bahr de Stefano (Manhattan, N.Y.) was blocked by a Trinity defender. Williams senior Mohammed Rashind (Accra, Ghana) scored the game's other goal on a breakaway.
Trinity sophomore Mateo Zabala (Paterson, N.J.) finished with 10 saves, leaving his feet on more than one occasion to keep the Bantams in the contest, and Christian Alcorn (Richmond, Va.) had eight for the Ephs.
