Box Score Hartford, Conn. - First-year forward Alex Wallin (Wayzata, Minn.) scored the game-winning goal with 1:43 left in the third period to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 3-2 victory over the visiting Buffalo State College Bengals in women's ice hockey action this evening at Williams Rink in the Koeppel Community Sports Center. Trinity improves to 1-3 and finishes the two-game series even after a 2-1 setback yesterday. The Bengals falls to 5-4-1. Wallin's clincher, the first goal of her collegiate career, came 4:02 after Buffalo State had tied the game on a goal by Natasha Steinle at the 14:15 mark of the final frame. Fellow Bantam rookie Olivia White (Oakville, Ontario) assisted on the deciding goal.
Trinity junior forward Kelcie Finn (Weymouth, Mass.) had opened the scoring with a power-play goal from first-year forward Lauren MacMaster (St. Albert, Alberta) just under four minutes into the game. Steinle assisted Bri Carroll for a game-tying goal midway through the first stanza, and Trinity junior defender Tasha Adams (Reston, Va.) scored the lone goal of the second period to give Trinity a 2-1 lead. Shots and penalties were fairly even, while junior Jess Thulin (North Reading, Mass.) made 28 saves to collect her first Bantam win and Justine Silva had 30 saves in a losing effort for the Bengals.
