Trinity Women's Squash Downs Princeton To Take Third At Howe Cup

Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College Bantams swept the final wave to secure third place in the College Squash Association (CSA) Women's Squash National Team Championship (Howe Cup) Tournament with a 5-4 victory over the Princeton Tigers at Yale University's Brady Courts this afternoon.  No. 4-seeded Trinity avenges a 5-4 setback to the No. 3-seeded Tigers in New Jersey eight days ago and finishes at 13-5, while Princeton ends up at 12-4.

Trailing, 4-2, after losing all three matches of the middle wave, Trinity rallied thanks to 3-0 sweeps at No. 1 and No. 4 and a 3-1 victory at No. 7 by senior co-captain Kanzy El Defrawy (Cairo, Egypt), junior Anna Kimberley (Colchester, England), and senior co-captain Sachika Balvani (Mumbai, India), respectively, in the final shift.  Rookie Jenny Haley (Caldicot, Wales) had given the Bantams a 1-0 lead with a 3-0 win in the No. 6 spot and sophomore Julia LeCoq (Creteil, France) put Trinity up, 2-1, with a 3-1 win in the No. 3 position in the lineup.
