Trinity Women's Ice Hockey Unbeaten Streak Stopped At Williams

Box Score

Williamstown, Mass. – The visiting Trinity College Bantams saw their seven-game unbeaten streak come to an end with a 4-0 loss against the Williams College Ephs in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's ice hockey action this afternoon.  Trinity falls to 10-8-1 overall and 4-7-1 in the NESCAC, while the Ephs, who gain a split in the weekend series after a 4-2 home loss to the Bantams last night, improve to 12-8 overall and 8-6 in the league.  Trinity, which had won four games in a row and was 6-0-1 since January 12, will host Division I Sacred Heart on Tuesday, February 9.  Williams plays two at Oswego State next weekend.

After a scoreless first period that saw Trinity sophomore goaltender Sydney Belinskas (Port Orange, Fla.) make 11 of her 27 saves, Williams scored twice in each of the next two frames.  Freshman forward Annie Rush (Anchorage, Alaska) scored the first goal midway through the second period, and provided an assist on the second to senior Talia Simon (Carlisle, Mass.).  Eph sophomore Kearan Burke (Shrewsbury, Mass.) scored a short-handed goal 5:37 into the final stanza, and the home team tacked on an empty netter with 2:52 left to play.
