Trinity Women's Squash Captures Tenth NESCAC Finals In A Row With Shutout Of Williams

Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College Bantams earned their 10th consecutive New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Women's Squash title with a 9-0 victory over the Williams College Ephs this afternoon at Kellner Center.  Trinity, seeded No. 1 in the tournament and ranked No. 5 in the nation, improves to 10-3, while the No. 2-seeded Ephs falls to 13-9 with their seventh NESCAC Finals loss to the Bantams in the 10-year history of the event.

Trinity won eight of nine matches by a 3-0 score, and sophomore Karolina Holinkova (Krnov, Czech Republic) allowed just six total points in her 3-0 win at the No. 9 position.  Williams' Lily Grant took Trinity's Katiria Sanchez (Bronx, N.Y.) to a fifth game before falling, 11-6, in the clincher.  

Middlebury won the third-place match, 6-3, over Amherst, while Bates downed Bowdoin, 6-3, and Colby defeated Hamilton, 7-2, in other consolation matches today at Trinity.
