Middlebury, Vt. - The Trinity College men's tennis team was swept on Saturday by the No. 3 ranked Middlebury Panthers at the Proctor Tennis Courts in Vermont. Trinity moves to 8-6 overall and 3-5 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) while Middlebury improves to 13-2 on the season and remains perfect in conference play.
The Bantams had two close doubles matches as the Rex Glickman (Chappaqua, N.Y.)/Ford Traff (Wayzata, Minn.) combo as well as the Rutendo Matingo (Weston, Mass.)/William Boyd (Hillsborough, Calif.) duo both dropped 8-5 matches in the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles spots, respectively. Traff fought hard in the No. 3 singles spot, taking the match to three sets before falling 10-6 in the decisive third set. Middlebury held the Bantams to two combined points in three of the six singles matches.
Trinity returns to action tomorrow as they host the Williams College Ephs in the team's final regular season match of the year.
