Trinity Women's Ice Hockey Blanked At Norwich

Northfield, Vt. – The visiting Trinity College Bantams lost, 3-0, against the Norwich University Cadets in women's ice hockey action this evening at Kreitzberg Arena.  Trinity falls to 1-7-1 with its third loss in a row and sees its winless streak increase to five games (1-4-1).  No. 3-ranked Norwich improves to 10-2-1 with its first-ever win over the Bantams.

Norwich received goals from Adrieanna Rossini (Malden, Mass.), Erin Joyce (Manchester, N.H.) and Carly Menges (Novelty, Ohio).  After a scoreless first period, Norwich scored twice in the second period with Rossini and Menges scoring to take a 2-0 lead after two periods. Rossini opened the scoring at the 2:27 mark , and Menges added to the lead at the 8:33 mark of the second period.  Norwich capped the scoring at the 17:06 mark of the third period with Joyce roofing a wrist shot from in close just under the cross bar in the top left corner to make it 3-0 Cadets.

Trinity junior goalie Sydney Belinskas (Port Orange, Fla.) made 23 saves, while Cadet junior Laurie King (Waddington, N.Y.) had 13 stops. Tuesday's game marked former Norwich assistant coach Keith Maurice's '02 first trip back to Kreitzberg since 2012-13 season. The Bantams will host league rival Hamilton on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.
