Box Score Buffalo, N.Y. - Senior goaltender Sydney Belinkas (Port Orange, Fla.) recorded a shutout with 33 saves and first-year forward Taylor Peracchio (Wayne, N.J.) score the game's only goal to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 1-0 victory over the Buffalo State College Bengals in women's ice hockey action this afternoon at BSC Ice Arena. Trinity improves to 1-2, while Buffalo State drop to 4-5 with its first loss in four games. The teams will complete the two-game series in Western New York tomorrow at 2 p.m.
Peracchio, who has both Trinity goals this winter, made good on assists by sophomore defender Taylor Foy (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) and first-year forward Abigail Riskevich (Shakopee, Minn.) 3:18 into the game. The Bengals went on to outshoot the Bantams, 33-23, but Belinskas was a wall for the entire 60 minutes. Buffalo State pulled rookie goalie Bri Gawronski (Dunkirk, N.Y.) with under a minute remaining in the third period, but could only generate one shot. Gawronski finished with 22 saves. Both teams came up empty on three power plays each.
