Middletown, Conn. - Junior forward Kelcie Finn (Weymouth, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal in the third period and added an assist to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 2-1 victory over the Wesleyan University Cardinals in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's ice hockey action this evening.  Trinity improves to 7-12-2 overall and 6-6-1 in the NESCAC and extends its unbeaten streak against Wesleyan to 20 games (17-0-3), having not lost to the Cardinals since the 2006-07 season opener.  Wesleyan drops to 7-9-4 overall and 4-7-2 in the league while extending their winless streak to five games (0-4-1).

Trinity trailed, 1-0, after the first period but tied the game on a goal by junior forward Melissa Maffeo (Melrose, Mass.) from Finn and junior Hannah Oganeku (Castle Pines, Colo.) midway through the second stanza.  Maffeo returned the favor with an assist on Finn's game-winner 13:58 into the final frame.  Aside from a goal by Wesleyan's Cici Frattasio on the first shot of the game 41 seconds after the opening faceoff, Trinity junior goaltender Sydney Belinskas (Port Orange, Fla.) was a wall, finishing with 22 saves.  Cardinal goalie Allegra Grant made 28 saves, as Trinity outshot the Cardinals, 30-23.  The Bantams committed just one penalty but failed to score on five power plays.  The teams will complete the two-game, home-and-home series tomorrow in Hartford at 4 p.m.
