Trinity Men's Tennis Collects First Victory Of The Season At Chapman

Orange, Calif. - Senior co-captain Rex Glickman (Chappaqua, N.Y.) and first-year Chris Bilicic (Chicago, Ill.) each won in singles and doubles to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 6-3 victory over the Chapman University Panthers in men's tennis action this afternoon.  Trinity evens its record at 1-1, while the Panthers drop to 2-4.  The Bantams will play twice tomorrow, making up a match from Tuesday against Vassar at Pomona-Pitzer at 8 a.m. and finishing thir spring trip at 4 p.m. with a road match at Redlands.

Glickman teamed with sophomore Courtland Boyle (Pembroke, Mass.) for an 8-4 win at first doubles, while Bilicic and fellow rookie Granville Kaynor (New Orleans, La.) won bybthe same score at third doubles to give the Bantams a 2-1 lead entering singles play.  Trinity first-year Scott Danforth (Greenwich, Conn.) won easily at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-2, but the five other matches were closely contested.  Three sets went into tiebreakers and three of the mathes went three sets.  Glickman won at the top of the lineup, 6-1, 7-6 (4), while senior co-captain Kyle Scheffers (Flossmoor, Ill.) won 7-6 (2), 6-2 at second singles.  Bilicic rounded out the Trinity scoring with a 6-4, 7-6 (8) triumph at the bottom of the singles ladder.
