Everett, Wilkins Lead Women's Tennis in Final Day of NEWITT

Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College women's tennis program completed the final day of the New England Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament (NEWITT) Sunday afternoon, seeing two athletes make it to their respective Draw Finals. The duo of juniors Morgan Wilkins (Halesite, N.Y.) and Lilly Everett (Nassau, Bahamas) played in Sunday's C Draw Finals, leading the way for the Bantams in the team's final event of the fall season.

After winning their opening match against Gordon on Friday, the pairing defeated Gordon Saturday morning, and Babson Saturday afternoon. The pair ultimately dropped the finals match to Middlebury in doubles, 8-7; in singles, Everett fell 6-3, 6-4, and Wilkins fell 6-1, 6-1.

Freshman Isabella Hartman (New York, New York) and senior Julie Brogan (Falmouth, Maine) competed in the NEWITT A Draw bracket, winning Friday's contest against Middlebury before falling Saturday morning to MIT. In the B draw, senior Jillian Winer (Bolton, Mass.) and sophomore Ashley Walker (New Cannan, Conn.) defeated Mount Holyoke before dropping its contest on Saturday to Amherst.

The Bantams return to action in the spring, with its first match of the new year to be played at home against Bowdoin on March 17th.
