Middletown, Conn. - The Trinity College women's tennis squad fell, 9-0, to the No. 4-ranked Wesleyan University Cardinals on Thursday afternoon in Middletown. Trinity falls to 3-10 overall and 1-8 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) while the Cardinals improve to 11-2 on the year and 6-1 in the conference. Trinity returns to action on Saturday for its season finale at 10 a.m. versus Ithaca. The Cardinals swept doubles play and won each singles match in straight sets. Trinity junior duo Elena Pellegrini (Leghorn, Italy) and Julia Brogan (Falmouth, Maine) put up a fight at the top doubles match but ultimately fell, 8-5. The other two doubles matchups finished in Wesleyan's favor via 8-2 scores.
