Trinity Women's Ice Hockey Loses At Hamilton

Box Score

Clinton, N.Y. - Hyla Mosher had the game-winning goal and an assist to lead the Hamilton College Continentals to a 5-2 victory over the visiting Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's ice hockey action this afternoon.  Trinity falls to 5-7-2 overall and 0-6 in the NESCAC with its fourth setback in a row, while the Continentals improve to 8-6 overall and 4-4 in the league.  Hamilton takes the two-game series at home, having won last night's tilt, 3-2, in overtime.  Trinity heads home to host NESCAC rival Amherst on Friday at 7:30 p.m.  The Continentals visit Utica on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Hamilton opened the scoring 5:36 into the first period on a goal by Maddie Beitler, but Trinity answered when sophomore forward Cassidy McNeeley (South Easton, Mass.) fed junior defender Camille von Steinbergs (Minnetonka, Minn.) for the first Bantam goal with 7:46 left before the first break.  Mosher assisted Timary Malley for a Hamilton goal with 1:38 remaining in the first period to give the home team a 2-1 advantage.

Trinity scored the lone goal of the second period, tying the game at 2-2 with 11:21 on the clock.  Bantam junior forward Sierra Lee (Ferguson's Cove, Nova Scotia) assisted senior captain Alex Sinson (Elm Grove, Wisc.) on the goal. Hamilton broke the game open with three goals after the last intermission, including the game-winner by Mosher from Katherine Solohub 4:52 after the final intermission. The Continentals scored a power-play goal and an empty netter later in the period.  Trinity senior goaltender Kai-Lilly Karpman (Playa del Ray, Calif.) made 31 saves, while Sidney Molnar made 24 for Hamilton.
