Trinity Women's Squash Beaten At Home By Top-Ranked Harvard

Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College Bantams suffered an 8-1 defeat to the top-ranked Harvard University Crimson in women's squash action this evening at Kellner Center.  Trinity, ranked No. 3 in the nation, falls to 11-2 entering the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championships this weekend at Wesleyan University.  The Crimson improve to 11-0.  

Senior co-captain Vanessa Raj (Penang, Malaysia) provided the Trinity highlight with a 3-1 win over Harvard's Amina Yousry at No. 4 on the ladder.  Raj dropped the first game, 14-12, but won the next three with relative ease, 11-6, 11-7, 11-4.  Harvard won both matches that went the distance.  Eleonore Evans outlasted Bantam sophomore Nadiia Usenko (Kiev, Ukraine), 3-2, after Usenko had won the first two games, 11-5, and, 11-2, in the No. 5 spot.  Trinity rookie Nanna Carleke (Karlskrona, Sweden) went up, 2-0, on Harvard's Hannah Craig in the No. 7 position, but lost the next three.
