Trinity Field Hockey Grinds Out 1-0 Win at Bowdoin

BRUNSWICK, Maine – In the second period, Trinity leading scorer Caelin Flaherty knocked in the game's only goal with help from teammates Kylie Tierney and Katrina Winfield. One score is all the Bantams needed to defeat Bowdoin College and improve to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) play. The Polar Bears fall to 6-3 (2-3 NESCAC). Trinity hosts Bates College tomorrow at noon for its 2021 Homecoming match at Robin L. Sheppard Field.

Flaherty's goal at the 29:08 mark on Saturday afternoon puts her at 12 on the season, good for the leading spot in the NESCAC. Tierney registered her first career assist on the play while Winfield tallied her third this season. The Bantams out-shot Bowdoin 6-3 and took the slight advantage on penalty corners at 4-3. Junior Emma Cooper played all 60 minutes in goal for Trinity and recorded two saves in her first shutout victory of the year.
