Brunswick, Maine – The visiting Trinity College Bantams lost, 2-0, against the Bowdoin College Polar Bears in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's soccer action this afternoon. Bowdoin scored two first half goals to defeat Trinity 2-0 and secure its first conference win of the season and improve to 6-3. The Bantams suffered their first NESCAC loss of the season and sit at 5-2-1 overall and 1-1-1in the league. Trinity hosts conference foe Bates tomorrow at noon as part of the college's Homecoming Weekend festivities.
The Polar Bear scored 19 minutes into the game on a goal by Samaya Bernardo and Lynn Farquhar doubled Bowdoin's goal tally with ten minutes remaining in the half. Isa Quintana put a ball on net that forced Trinity's
Jennifer Stuart (Newburyport, Mass.) to make a diving save. Farquhar rushed the loose rebound and scored with her left foot. Bowdoin held a 14-10 edge in shots and 8-3 corner kick advantage. Stuart made five saves.
