Men’s Soccer Defeated by Tufts University

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College men's soccer team was delt its third-straight conference loss on Saturday afternoon, falling to Tufts University 3-0. The Bantams now sit at 2-8 and 0-6 in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) games. Tufts remains undefeated and sits atop the conference at 8-0-1 (5-0-1 NESCAC). Trinity resumes action Tuesday against Connecticut College when the host a 7 p.m. contest in Hartford. 
 
Both teams took just two shots in the first half of Saturday's action and concluded the first 45 minutes of play without a goal. It wasn't until the 70-minute mark that Tufts' Travis Brewer found the back of the net on an assist from Ian Daly. The Jumbos rode that momentum and quickly buried a second and third score within the game's next five minutes. Daly created his own shot just four minutes after his assist to give Tufts a 2-0 advantage before Mikey Brady tacked on a third goal less than a minute later. 
 
The Bantams countered Tufts four shots on goal with four of their own. Both sides also tallied the same number of corner kick opportunities at three apiece. Erik Lauta registered four saves in net for the Jumbos. Trinity's Bernardo Simoes recorded one save on the evening.
