NEW LONDON, Conn. - Sophomore forward
Jax Murray (Minneapolis, Minn.) had two goals and an assist to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 5-1 victory over the Connecticut College Camels in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's ice hockey action this evening. The game was the 2021-22 season opener for both teams.
After a scoreless first period, Trinity found itself down, 1-0, 35 seconds into the second frame thanks to a power-play goal by Anthony Qualtieri Trinity senior captain
Lucas Michaud (South Portland, Maine) tied the game with a moments later. Trinity rattled off four more goals, including the game-winner by Murray from Michaud and sophomore
Kyle Tomaso (Milford, Mass.). Bantam sophomores
Devan Tongue (Hampden, Mass.) and
Gerard Maretta (Brick, N.J.) also scored, while Tomaso and junior
Riley Prattson (Tolland, Conn.) has a pair of assists apiece. Sophomore
J.P. Mella (Stamford, Conn.) posted his first career victory with 24 saves, and Michael McHale had 29 stops for the Camels.
